To live without a purpose : A life well lived

Most of us are only replicating in the spiritual life what we do in our drama world. A desire to succeed in bettering ourselves to show to ourself that We are trying harder than the others and also succeeding at being improvised versions that serve some noble purposes in our lifetime.
The hoarding of information, techniques and do it better know how is a never ending plague of the ego that simply can’t sit with what it is. Because it has to always do something to become someone better than before.
The lacuna of not being enough is a disease that plagues us all alike. Someone may be racing towards money and fame and someone may well be pushing to become a kind and balanced person. It’s not much different though it appears to be. Until one can find acceptance and peace with who he is, the chase only is an escape mechanism.
When you begin to know that you are the self alone..and not your aspirations or purpose and that there is no one really out there to become better or more evolved or more spiritual or pure etc.. the jig continues.
This is exactly why the fundamental question- Who am I had to be put on the table at some time or other. The encounter with the self when made will release all anxieties of holy purposes or great goals to become someone better than yourself. There is no one there to better.
Sit with the question long ..
