“MUKTI”, a far fetched grand dream which has to occur in a future time often being the goal of all spiritual seekers is a rendezvous dogma of some sort. True freedom if real should manifest while one is still alive and moment to moment as a tangible reality in one’s life. In my humble & limited view, the idea of MUKTI is only a hot selling cake that helps to lure us into a grand event which may showcase itself when we have become hyperqualified for grace and when it happens, some grand halos/auras of some sort ( like you see in GOD photographs) may somehow be found around the awakened man.
Our common sense is seriously tossed to bizarre levels of irrationality and stupidity when we are offered such sweet and fake ideas of freedom. The famous zen saying, ” before enlightenment, chop the wood & peel the potatoes. After enlightenment, chop the wood & peel the potatoes” seems quite true and as urban and evolved seekers, we need to drop ideas of grandeur, supranormal or exclusive ideas of the enlightenment.
The rather subtle and easy compasses of an awakened man can be seen in the simple qualities of honesty, simplicity and complete abidance at the moment. His lack of bias or criticism for people and worldly occurrences can be observed. his peaceful milieu and desirelessness for specific occurrences can be studied. But unfortunately, this world of glamour needs glamorous stories of enlightenment, not the simplicity of beingness. hence we often miss the true jivanmuktas and liberated beings within our own tribes as they are too subtle for our egos to grasp.
Drop the search for Mukti!
Drop the search for anything extraordinary!
BEING IS THE KEY!
