MANONMANI refers to the state of the transcendent conscious state of the void/ shunyata where the mind has sunk into the heart and the Kundalini is in the sushmana ( centre). This yoga posture called “unmani” is the point where the yogi loses his identification as the mind-body and remains as the pure nirvikar and formless conscious reality of truth. This is the perfect state of Yoga wherein there is absolute calm and peace and the highest state of bliss (ananda) spills forth the soma (nectar) of complete self-realization. This state lacks any kind of mental activity and is neutral and void in its character (swaroopa). The yogi becomes free from the bondage of karma and attains the jivanmukta stage at this pinnacle.

The manonmani chakra is one of the 8 chakras between the Sahasrara & Agya chakra and is just below the Sahasrara ( crown of the 1000 petalled lotus). Devi helps the Kundalini Shakti to merge into her beloved, Shiva at this behested location leading to the globalization of the living experience as the nondual state of SAT CHIT ANANDA at this point.
The regular chanting of LALITASHASRANAMA and invoking Devi’s grace enables the state of manonmani to be enabled in the devotee. May we be in the manonmani awastha as our devotion to the self as Devi.
