As one traverses through ones time line and it’s everyday occurances, it becomes more and more clear that simplicity, innocence and purity are more priceless treasures in our life than the expensive assets and possessions of people and things.
My daily walk is the best time of my day and a daily steadfast walking practice which seems monotonous, boring and unrewarding has become a cornerstone of this life. In those few moments of contact with many precious gifts of nature, I can feel healed and touched like no human can offer through any experience of pleasure.
On a walk.. one gets time to rethink and reboot ones thoughts and let go and release most of the heartache and worries. The simple act of the feet touching Mother earth is the most rewarding experience of this lifetime. My park is very small and yet I get many discoveries of a diversified ecosystem in place with so many living beings and entities in symbiotic associations of mutual upliftment. I can do clearly see that human beings are the only inhabitants of the planet who live so selfishly and fear based to sustain themselves at the cost of whatever it takes.
Experiencing various kinds of fragrances in the park from its flora and fauna, being able to hug a tree or palpate a flower petal, seeing the squirrels run amock in their play, the conversations between birds and the sound of the wind as it hustles the trees, the sunshine as it lights up the world come alive on a sunrise view …all these and many more unsaid rewards of being an aware part of an interconnected matrix is so beautiful and rich.
The mutiny of our urban lives of propoganda, drama and vain and profane show off has led to stress, disease and sadness. Inspite of owning the best possessions that money can buy us, we have forgotten to laugh or even feel grief. We r depressed at 16 years – isn’t it a strange occurance to feel depressed in your youth which is a time of possibilities, vitality and creative expression.
There is so much one can learn by observation in solitude in nature. And also so much one can feel grateful for. Simplicity may have been a forgotten virtue in this world of great pompous show off, but it pays off in the long run. Cultivate healthy simple habits of connecting to nature each day, rising before sunrise and eating healthy and living minimalistically.
Even if others think you are silly or old fashioned..you will find peace, safety and bliss brimming from your life.
Be a rebel in this mad World
Live simply.
