KAALI: THE THUNDER OF COMPASSION

I lay lazing
In the mirth of samsara,
Blinded by illusion, desire and fate.

You shone like lightning
Ripped me of identity, ego, and pride.
I screamed… it hurt.
I cursed under my breath.
You rumbled in aggression
And snatched my ground.

I was scared and lonely;
It was only you at sight.
All worlds of familiarity
Had been snatched.
Every idea fractured.

I limped to you
Prostate at my knees.
Begged for my life.

A drop of elixir
From the split open sky
At my tongue tip…

The elixir made me new.
I danced and frolicked to
Kali: the thunder of compassion.
